A Madison County woman will appear in Cato Town Court next week after being arrested on a charge of making a punishable false written statement.
On May 2nd, Cayuga County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a home in Cato for a reported domestic dispute. Julie Robbins, of Eaton, had reportedly provided deputies with a sworn written statement about the domestic incident. Upon investigation, deputies discovered that the information in the statement did not occur, and as a result, they arrested Robbins for making a false written statement.
Robbins will appear in Cato Town Court on Monday.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
