A Lyons woman is facing charges after deputies say she stole several items from a Dollar General store in the Town of Lyons.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, 44-year-old Kathleen Shoemaker was arrested on Tuesday following an investigation into a larceny that occurred four days earlier.
Deputies say Shoemaker placed several body wash products in her purse, passed all points of sale, and left the store without paying. When approached by deputies, the stolen items were reportedly found in her purse.
Shoemaker is charged with petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. She is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
