Lyons Woman Accused of Resisting Arrest During Traffic Stop

SHARE NOW

Wayne County deputies arrested a Lyons woman after a traffic stop in the Town of Lyons.

Officials say 37-year-old Alisha Abbott allegedly failed to stop at a red light while traveling east on Forgham Street. When deputies attempted to pull her over, she refused to comply and resisted arrest.

Abbott was charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, failure to stop at a red signal, and unlicensed operation. Deputies also found she was operating with a revoked non-driver ID.

She was transported to the Wayne County Jail, issued multiple traffic tickets, and released on an appearance ticket. Abbott is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
