An 18-year-old in Lyons faces a number of charges including drunken driving, obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest stemming from a traffic stop early Sunday morning.
The charges against Zachary Shaffer stem from a domestic dispute complaint and information that Shaffer was allegedly driving around the area after he had been drinking. Deputies attempted to stop the car, but Shaffer did not stop and drove to his home instead. Shaffer refused to comply with roadside field testing, and then fought with deputies as he was placed under arrest.
Shaffer was brought to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing, where he refused to provide a breath sample.
Shaffer was taken to the Wayne County Jail to await arraignment.
