A Lyons man is facing charges after allegedly painting an unauthorized advertisement on a building owned by the Wayne County Land Bank.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, 53-year-old Merle Adams Jr. was arrested following an investigation into a criminal mischief complaint. Deputies say Adams painted the advertisement on the east side of 46 Canal Street without permission.
Adams is charged with Making Graffiti and Criminal Mischief, both misdemeanors.
He was taken to the Wayne County Jail for processing and later released with an appearance ticket. Adams is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
