The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Town of Lyons man following an incident Sunday evening on State Route 14.
Deputies say 29-year-old Christopher Huffman was taken into custody on Monday night, while deputies were investigating an unrelated matter. During the investigation, Huffman allegedly offered to pay deputies if they released another subject who was being arrested.
When deputies placed Huffman under arrest, he reportedly threatened to kill them.
Huffman has been charged with bribery in the third degree and harassment in the second degree. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail to await arraignment through CAP court and is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
