Investigations dating back to last June culminated over the weekend with the arrest of a Lyons man.
The first investigation into Jason Johnson occurred after he allegedly broke into a residence and while inside struck a resident in front of a child and stole property. In another case, Johnson used a person’s car without their consent and refused to return it. The victim had a stay-away order of protection in place at the time of the incident.
On two separate occasions, Johnson was accused of possessing two forged checks and was able to cash one of them and attempted to cash the other one without the owner’s permission. Police say during that time, Johnson was also in possession of the stolen car and the owner of the checks had an order of protection against him.
Johnson faces the following charges: harassment, endangering the welfare of a child, attempted petit larceny, two counts of petit larceny, three counts of contempt, grand larceny, burglary, two counts of criminal possession of stolen property, and two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
Johnson is being held at Wayne County Jail without bail due to his prior criminal history.
