A Town of Lyons man was arrested on multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, following a vehicle crash in the Town of Arcadia.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested 30-year-old Raul Gonzalez after he went off the roadway and crashed into a ditch on Hydesville Road. Investigators allege Gonzalez failed to keep right and moved from his lane unsafely before leaving the roadway. Deputies also reported the vehicle had no front license plate, tinted windows, and an open container inside the car.
During the investigation, deputies determined Gonzalez was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where he voluntarily submitted to a chemical test. His blood alcohol content was measured at .13 percent, according to the sheriff’s office.
Gonzalez was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, unsafe lane movement, no front plate, tinted windows, and possession of an open container.
He was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Arcadia Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
