The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Lyons man following a warrant stemming from a prior domestic dispute.
Deputies say 37-year-old Terrance Freeman, in Lyons, was taken into custody at a business in Palmyra after a tip led investigators to his location.
Freeman’s charges of third-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child stem from an earlier incident where he allegedly argued with a victim sitting in a vehicle. According to deputies, Freeman repeatedly punched a car window and then kicked the door, causing damage to the vehicle. The incident happened in front of a child under the age of 17.
Freeman fled before deputies arrived at the original incident, and a warrant was later issued for his arrest. He was arraigned on Wednesday, and the Sheriff’s Office has requested that bail be denied.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
