An incident that occurred at the Wayne County Jail a little more than one month ago has resulted in charges against a Lyons man.
It is alleged that on April 6th, Merle Adams proceeded to pound on the doors of the Wayne County Jail as he was being released on prior charges. His alleged actions caused damage to a security access reader.
The 53-year-old Adams has been charged with criminal mischief and will appear in Lyons Town Court next month to answer the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
