A Town of Lyons man was arrested Tuesday following a domestic violence incident in which a juvenile was allegedly struck, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Deputies arrested 39-year-old Matthew Butchino on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment. According to the sheriff’s office, a verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation during which Butchino allegedly struck the juvenile in the face.
Butchino was taken to the Wayne County Jail. He will appear before the Town of Lyons Court at a later date for further proceedings.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
