On Saturday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Lyons man following a domestic incident on Water Street.
Deputies responded to the residence around 8:00 p.m. for a reported disturbance. Following an investigation, it is alleged that James Watt, 49, placed his hands around a victim’s neck, causing her to fear for her life.
Watt was charged with Harassment in the Second Degree. He was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing and held for centralized arraignment. He is scheduled to answer the charge in Lyons Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
