A Lyons man is facing multiple charges after a domestic dispute led to a police investigation late last week.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Emmanuel Ellis was arrested following an incident that occurred on Friday, at a residence on Geneva Street in the Town of Lyons. Deputies allege that Ellis became involved in a physical altercation with another individual, during which he struck the victim multiple times in the face with an open hand.
Authorities further allege that Ellis placed his hand around the victim’s throat and squeezed, restricting their ability to breathe.
Following the investigation, Ellis was taken into custody and charged with Assault in the Third Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, and Aggravated Family Offense.
An order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim.
The Sheriff’s Office has not released further details. The investigation is ongoing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
