Police say a Lyons man punched another man in the face before attempting to push the victim over a railing and down a flight of stairs.
The alleged incident happened Saturday night at the Iroquois Hotel in Lyons. When deputies arrived on scene, 32-year-old David Merkley, became physically resistant as they attempted to detain him. Merkley was charged with harassment and obstructing governmental administration.
Merkley was released on an appearance ticket in Lyons Town Court.
