Cayuga County Deputies arrested a Locke man early on August 29 for violating an order of protection.
62-year-old Michael Yaw was taken into custody around 2:00 a.m. after deputies determined he was communicating by phone with someone he is legally barred from contacting under a full stay-away order of protection. Yaw was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.
He was processed at the Public Safety Building and held for CAP Court arraignment, where bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
