The driver of a car that allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersections of Routes 34 and 90 in the town of Genoa was arrested by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office on Driving While Intoxicated charges.
Shortly before 9 p.m. on February 24th, a Sheriff’s Deputy reported not only seeing the driver fail to stop for a stop sign but also cross over the white fog line while driving west on Route90. When the deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver of the car, Russell Lampman, of Ledyard, allegedly drove into a ditch on the south side of the road. Upon further investigation, Lampman was brought to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office where he provided a breath sample of .11 BAC.
Lampman was released on tickets returnable to the town of Genoa Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
