The Yates County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a case of criminal mischief after a Dundee Central School vehicle was damaged last month.
According to the sheriff’s office, school officials discovered the damage on June 20. An investigation determined that a juvenile under the care of the Broome County Department of Social Services broke windows on the vehicle the previous evening. The juvenile has since appeared in Yates County Family Court to answer to the criminal mischief charge.
The individual’s name is not being released due to age.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
