Ithaca Woman Arrested on Felony Burglary Charge in Seneca Falls

Seneca Falls Police arrested an Ithaca woman for allegedly taking merchandise from the Walmart store on North Road.

Makayla Walker-Squires collected a multitude of merchandise that was held for sale and was observed putting them into her purse. The 28-year-old allegedly passed all points of sale without an attempt to render payment. It was further discovered that Walker-Squires filled up a shopping chart with merchandise and attempted to pass all points of sale without rendering payment before being confronted by staff. Police say Walker-Squires knowing entered Walmart despite a lawful order not to enter, remained in the store, and committed the crime of petit larceny. Walker-Squires was charged with felony burglary along with misdemeanor counts of petit larceny and attempted petit larceny.

Walker-Squires was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in the town of Seneca Falls Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
