An Ithaca woman is facing an arson charge following a Friday morning arson in the city.
According to Ithaca Police, they assisted fire crews at an apartment that occurred around 4:00a at the Ithaca Arthaus at 130 Cherry Street. An investigation determined the fire was intentionally set by the resident of the apartment.
42-year-old Natasha Thomas was arrested and charged with one felony count of Arson. She was arraigned and taken to the Tompkins County Jail on $10,000 bail.
Only one person was injured and those injuries were non-life threatening; however, the fire displaced numerous residents who had to be assisted by the American Red Cross.
