A busy day for police in Ithaca on Friday.
The department reports responding to two shootings and a motor vehicle accident during the afternoon and evening.
The first shooting occurred in the 400 block of Adams St at around 1:35p while the second happened in the 100 block of West Village Place at around 1:57p. Police and investigators confirmed the shootings had occurred and were able to collect evidence, such as shell casings and bullet impacts, at both scenes.
At 4:04p, officers responded to the 300 block of Third St for the motor vehicle crash believed to be related to the shootings. On scene, officers found two vehicles. It was learned that one vehicle had intentionally crashed into the other.
There are no known victims of any of these incidents.
Police believe the parties were known to each other and these were not random incidents.
