An Ithaca man is facing a number of charges in Seneca County following a traffic stop.
Tyrone Chaires was allegedly spotted by Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies going 74 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone. Upon investigation, it was found that Chaires was driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .16%. Chaires was also found to be allegedly driving on a suspended New York State driver’s license. When he was taken into custody, Chaires was also allegedly found to be in possession of suspected Tramadol, a Schedule Four controlled substance.
Chaires was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and released on an appearance ticket for Ovid Town Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
