A man is under arrest after he allegedly shot another man he was involved in an argument with on Saturday night in Ithaca.
A preliminary investigation determined that 28-year-old Eymel Deas, of Ithaca, knew his victim and fled the scene in an older-style grey sedan before police arrived. The victim was airlifted to a regional trauma center with gunshot wounds to his upper body and was listed in stable, but serious condition.
The suspect’s vehicle was spotted late Sunday morning by Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies and a traffic stop was conducted. Deas was turned over to Ithaca Police and charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and assault, all felonies.
After arraignments, Deas was sent to Tompkins County Jail.
The shooting remains under investigation.
