A 36-year-old Ithaca man is facing multiple charges after police took him into custody early Friday morning on an active arrest warrant.
According to the Ithaca Police Department, officers arrested Johnathan Byrd on Friday. When brought to the police station, Byrd allegedly became uncooperative and aggressive, refusing to comply with processing procedures. As a result, he was additionally charged with obstructing governmental administration.
The arrest warrant included charges of second-degree burglary and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Byrd was arraigned before Judge Wallace and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
