Police were called to a Walmart store in Ithaca after employees believed a shopper was attempting to use stolen credit cards to make purchases.
As officers arrived, the suspect, 28-year-old Isaiah Foster, was coming out the doors but ran back inside. As he was attempting to elude police inside the store, Foster was apparently knocking merchandise off the shelves. After physical resisting, Foster was finally placed under arrest.
He was charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property, along with misdemeanor charges of obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. Foster was also charged with an additional count of criminal possession of stolen property for a previous incident that happened in the city.
Additional charges for previous incidents are expected to be filed against Foster.
Foster was turned over to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office which had a warrant for his arrest.
