An Ithaca man was taken into custody after he was allegedly attempting to fight people in the area of Abbott Lane in the Tompkins County city while possessing a knife.
When police arrived on the scene shortly after 8 p.m. on Sunday, the suspect fled into a nearby wooded area. A search of the area turned up no one. About a half-hour later, police were called back to the same location for the report of the same crime involving the same man. Again, when police arrived, the suspect took off running. Following a brief foot pursuit, 33-year-old Alexander Mosher was taken into custody.
Mosher is accused of threatening multiple people who were outside on Abbott Lane with the knife. He was charged with two counts of menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies.
After arraignment, Mosher was held at the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of bail.
