Police have identified the suspect arrested in connection with a homicide in the city of Ithaca.
Police responded to a home in the 400 block of South Plain Street Monday morning for a death investigation. 43-year-old Ahmed Abed has been charged with second-degree murder and sent to Tompkins County Jail without bail.
Police did say this was not a random act of violence and that because of the ongoing investigation and with respect to the survivors, no further information will be released until a later time.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
