Interlaken Woman Charged with Felony DWI After Ovid Crash

SHARE NOW

An Interlaken woman is facing felony DWI charges following a crash in the town of Ovid, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say 37-year-old Robin Burton was involved in a single-vehicle property damage accident on October 2. She was not injured but was taken into custody after an investigation determined she was intoxicated.

Burton’s blood alcohol content was measured at 0.21 percent — more than twice the legal limit. Because of a prior DWI conviction in 2018, the charge was elevated to a felony.

She was also cited for moving from a lane unsafely and released with an appearance ticket for Ovid Town Court on November 18.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
