An inmate at the Steuben County Jail has been charged with felony escape.
29-year-old Joshua Jackson is accused of attempting to climb into the ceiling of the booking area in the jail with the intent of escaping. Jackson is also accused of injuring a Corrections Officer while resisting arrest. It’s estimated Jackson caused more than $1,500 in damage in his attempt to escape. He was charged with assault, criminal mischief, and escape, all felonies.
Jackson, who is from Bath, was placed behind bars following his arraignment.
The injured Corrections Officer was treated by medical staff.
