Incident Involving Crossbow Leads to Charges Against Seneca Falls Man

SHARE NOW

The Town of Seneca Falls Police Department arrested a local man following an unusual incident involving a crossbow and a residential mailbox.

Joshua Davis, of Seneca Falls, was taken into custody after police received a complaint from a resident reporting that an arrow had pierced their mailbox. Upon investigation, authorities determined that Davis had been shooting a crossbow on a nearby street when he missed his intended target. The crossbow bolt traveled across the roadway, ultimately striking a mailbox that was attached to a residence.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Davis now faces multiple charges, including one count of reckless endangerment in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor. He was also charged with violating prohibitions on the use and possession of firearms—an unclassified misdemeanor—and a town code violation for the unlawful discharge of weapons.

Davis was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Seneca Falls Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
