An investigation conducted by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office on Monday resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old Farmington man.
The arrest of Joshua Ramirez stemmed from an incident earlier in the day at the Canandaigua Lowe’s store. An investigation determined the 33-year-old was in a physical confrontation with his girlfriend and took her cellphone from her hand while she was speaking to a 911 dispatcher. Ramirez was charged with harassment and criminal mischief.
Ramirez was brought to the Ontario County Jail for processing and will answer the charges he is alleged to have committed in Hopewell Town Court at a later date.
he fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
