A Chemung County man is facing a felony charge after allegedly damaging a boat in the Town of Owasco.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Owasco Marina, just before 8:00a on April 25, after receiving a report of a suspicious person who appeared to be confused and allegedly damaged a boat.
Andrew Oeasi is alleged to have climbed into a boat that wasn’t his which was at the marina and tore out the radio and multiple switches. He then untied the boat and attempted to send it into the lake.
The Horseheads man was arrested and charged with a felony count of Criminal Mischief. Orasi was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Owasco Town Court at a later date and time.
