Honeoye Teen Charged in Stolen Credit Card Case

SHARE NOW

An 18-year-old Honeoye man has been charged after investigators say he used stolen credit cards to make more than $1,000 in fraudulent purchases.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, investigators arrested Karl Smith on Monday at his home without incident.  Deputies say Smith was found in possession of two stolen credit cards and used them to make $1,069.35 in unauthorized transactions. He is charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and fourth-degree grand larceny.

Smith was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Canadice Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
