Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 41-year-old Malcond Valladares-Herrera of Groton after a property-damage collision in the Town of Ovid.
According to the sheriff’s office, Valladares-Herrera was traveling north on State Route 96 when he failed to yield to a vehicle driven by Staci Hooker, also of Ovid. The collision caused damage to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene, but no injuries were reported.
Valladares-Herrera was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, along with traffic violations for failing to yield, operating an unregistered vehicle, and driving an uninspected vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Ovid Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
