Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck reports that a Genoa man has been arrested following a domestic incident earlier this month.
29-year-old Joshua Todd was taken into custody on Aug. 15 and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.
Deputies say the charges stem from an incident the night before, when Todd allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat during an argument in front of a 3-year-old child. Investigators say the incident was captured on video.
With assistance from the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, Todd was located and arrested. He was arraigned in CAP Court, where bail was set at $2,500, and is scheduled to appear in Genoa Town Court on Sept. 16.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
