A Geneva woman was arrested by Penn Yan Police following a traffic stop in the Yates County village.
According to village police, a registration check of the car Erika Castro was driving revealed the 29-year-old had a New York State permit only that was revoked on July 28th for operating without insurance. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, who was confirmed to be Erika Castro by her Learner’s Permit.
Castro was cited for aggravated unlicensed operation and unlicensed operator and will appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
