An accident early Friday morning at the intersection of State Routes 5 and 20 and Smith Road in Canandaigua resulted in the arrest of a Geneva woman.
An investigation determined that Faith Moll was driving a 2021 Toyota RAV4 out of its respective lane, into the ditch on the south side of the road and struck the mailbox at 4195 State Route 5. Moll was unable to get out of the vehicle following the accident. Hopewell firefighters and Canandaigua Ambulance responded to the scene to assist.
According to an investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Moll was allegedly driving drunk at the time of the accident and she was subsequently charged with DWI.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
