On Thursday, Tracey Vasquez-Woodhams was arrested by the New York State Police in Canandaigua following an organized retail theft investigation in Ontario County.
Members of the New York State Police Troop E Community Stabilization Unit were conducting a retail theft detail at a business on Recreation Drive in the Town of Hopewell when asset protection employees reported a woman concealing merchandise. According to police, the 32-year-old Geneva resident passed all points of sale without paying for items valued at over $1,000.
Vasquez-Woodhams was taken into custody in the parking lot and charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree. Following processing at SP Canandaigua, she was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Hopewell Court on April 7.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
