Geneva Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Friday morning on lower Seneca Street.
Officers responded around 12:45 a.m. to reports of gunfire and found that a man had been shot in the lower body. He was taken by private vehicle to Geneva General Hospital, then transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
During their investigation, officers found multiple 9mm shell casings at the scene. Police say several people in the area were uncooperative when asked for information.

The department was assisted by Geneva Fire, the Ontario and Seneca County Sheriff’s Offices, Waterloo Police, and New York State Police.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
