A Geneva man will appear in Penn Yan Village Court following his arrest on an assault charge.
30-year-old Dajaun Sims was arrested by police after being dispatched to a home in the village of Penn Yan for the complaint of an unwanted guest. While speaking with the parties involved, it was determined by police that there was a physical domestic that had occurred and allegedly involved Sims, who had left the scene. Sims is accused of being the primary aggressor and struck two people multiple times. Sims did come back to the residence while police were on scene and he was placed into custody and taken in for questions.
Based on previous convictions, Sims was charged with assault and aggravated family assault.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
