On Friday, March 6, Geneva Police arrested a 70-year-old man following a domestic incident on Castle Street.
Edwin Vazquez was charged with Assault in the Third Degree and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing. Officers responded to the scene for a report of a crime in progress. It is alleged that during a domestic dispute, Vazquez choked another person and caused them physical injury.
Vazquez was taken into custody by Officer Allan Smith and processed on the charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
