A Geneva man was charged with assault after he allegedly injured an Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputy who was attempting to place him into custody.
Police were called to a residence on County Road 24 in Gorham on Wednesday for a family trouble. Nathaniel Waffner was told by deputies to leave the property after the homeowner said she did not feel safe having him there. After Waffner refused to leave, deputies attempted to place him in handcuffs and he started to fight them. He was eventually taken into custody and charged with trespassing, criminal trespassing, and resisting arrest.
Waffner was being held at the Ontario County Jail for a preliminary hearing on January 8th.
