A Geneva man has been charged with felony attempted assault for an incident that happened on New Year’s Day in the city.
According to police, 52-year-old Carlos Vazquez-Vazquez got into an argument with a woman which escalated when he grabbed a butcher knife from the kitchen. Vazquez-Vazquez reportedly lunged at the woman and attempted to stab her. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival but was later taken into custody.
Vazquez-Vazquez was brought to Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
The victim did not suffer any injuries in the incident.
