SHARE NOW

A Fulton man was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a traffic stop in Cayuga County.

Early Sunday morning, a Cayuga County Sheriff’s Deputy reportedly observed a car driving over the yellow center line on Route 34B near Ridge Road. The deputy then observed the car had a blown rear left tire and damage to its driver’s side mirror. The Deputy then conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, Samuel Gerbig. Upon further investigation, Gerbig was placed into custody for DWI. Gerbig was transported to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office for processing and provided a breath sample of .17% BAC.

Gerbig was also charged with DWI, Operating a Motor Vehicle With a Blood Alcohol Content of .08 of 1%, and other vehicle and traffic violations.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
