A 19-year-old from South Carolina wanted on burglary and kidnapping charges has been arrested in Auburn.
Police received third-party information that Jamiah Franklin was at a residence on Orchard Street Thursday afternoon. When officers conducted a warrant check at the location, Franklin surrendered without incident.
Authorities in South Carolina allege Franklin was involved in an armed home invasion. Franklin is currently being held at the Cayuga County Jail on a Fugitive From Justice charge while awaiting extradition.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
