Four people were charged following an underage alcohol enforcement operation conducted Friday across Ontario County, authorities said.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, working with the New York State Liquor Authority, checked 37 establishments during the detail. Officials said four locations sold alcohol to someone under 21.
67-year-old Wesley Miller of West Bloomfield; 44-year-old Sarah Dean of Canandaigua; 36-year-old Stuart Purdy of Manchester; and 21-year-old Matthew Conway of Geneva were each charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, according to the sheriff’s office.
All four were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to answer the charges in their respective courts at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
