The investigation into a forgery complaint in the town of Lyons resulted in the arrest of a Newark woman.
The charges against Michaela Jacobs stem from an investigation into a forgery complaint. Jacobs was the recipient of Emergency Food Vouchers, allegedly utilized an altered emergency food voucher to use it a second time, which violates the rules and regulations of the program. As a result, Jacobs utilized the voucher for $8.97 that she was not entitled to at the Save-A-Lot store in Ontario.
Jacobs was held at the Wayne County Jail to await arraignment on charges of petit larceny and possession of a forged instrument.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
