A Fleming man was arrested by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office following its investigation into an alleged order of protection violation.
It is alleged that Robert Riester had arrived at a Dunning Avenue home in Fleming after previously being served with a full stay-away order of protection banning him from going to this location. The 42-year-old is also accused of fleeing the scene prior to police arrival. Deputies later caught up with Riester and charged him with felony criminal contempt based on previous domestic violence convictions from earlier arrests.
Following arraignment, Riester was sent to Cayuga County Jail in lieu of bail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
