The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Farmington woman on grand larceny, welfare fraud, and four counts of offering a false instrument for filing charges.
The arrest of Jennifer Koehler was the result of a joint investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and the Ontario County Department of Social Services. It is alleged that the 34-year-old failed to disclose that her husband was living in her home and also failed to report the income he was receiving on her DSS application. Koehler received $17,811 in benefits that she was not entitled to.
Koehler was arraigned at Ontario County CAP Court and released to appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
