The Farmington man accused of breaking a kitten’s hind leg on Christmas Day is now facing an additional charge.
30-year-old Keaghan Picaro was arrested at the Ontario County Jail on a charge of criminal contempt, accused of violating a court-ordered stay-away order by contacting the protected party by phone.
Picaro was originally arrested on Christmas night and charged with felony animal cruelty after investigators say he struck a kitten multiple times because it would not use a litter box. The kitten remains in the care of the Humane Society.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
