A Farmington man has been arrested for allegedly violating an order of protection.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 42-year-old Ryan Roys was arrested Thursday following an investigation into a Tuesday incident at Enterprise on State Route 332 in the Town of Canandaiga Roys is alleged to have had contact with a person protected by an order of protection.
Due to previous convictions, the charges against him were elevated to Criminal Contempt and Aggravated Family Offense.
Roys was arrested at the Ontario County Jail where he was being held on unrelated charges. He will return to Canandaigua Town Court at a later date to answer the charges against him.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
